Since 2015, some of the leading museums in Italy are under the direction of foreign professionals selected through an international call. They are art historians, archaeologists, managers. Among their skills is their ability to speak Italian fluently. They are protagonists of “Io parlo italiano” (“I speak Italian”) a series of interviews by Italian news agency 9Colonne with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The first interview is with Cecilie Hollberg, director of the Gallery of the Academy of Florence. Born in Soltau, in Germany, she has completed her university studies in History and Political science in Rome, Göttingen, Munich, Venice and Trento.
